About Jeromiah

Jeromiah Asher Drennan was born 11th of July 1997 on the Isle of Wight in England and is the eldest of four siblings. Jeromiah grew into an inquisitive young boy, seeking knowledge at every opportunity. At the age of three he was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, an incurable terminal disease with an average life span of 25 years. In 2006, Jeromiah moved with his family to Provo Utah.
A year later he lost the ability to walk; fuelling his thirst of learning. He is naturally inclined to science and scored in the top ten percent nationally for the Iowa testing in 2008. He likes history and has a wonderful ability to recall information in great detail. But his real passion is anything computer related, he has an almost genius gift with them. He has made games, websites and produced music to give out as gifts. Health wise it has been a tough few months, he needs extra nutrition through a feeding tube and has recently undergone emergency surgery that was needed for his severe restricted breathing ability. He is also needing surgery for scoliosis of the spine to prolong his quality of life. He has ambitions of learning and progressing in as many areas as possible in the time he has left. In 2011 Jeromiah received the Utah valley Chamber of commerce great kid award for his outstanding academic abilities and personal integrity. He serves faithfully in his church duties, maintains a 4.0 GPA at school and influences many around him to do good . He strives with maturity to be the best he can while dealing with the physical and emotional difficulties of his disability.
